What I liked
Ariana’s show portrays the look, feel and emotional texture of the Janis Joplin I remember as a kid. Back in the day Janis was always larger than life and despite all she endured during her short life her iconic presence has become deeply engrained in our culture. The writing and staging worked perfectly in harmony with Ariana’s spellbinding acting performance. I truly felt like I was right there, in the room with Janis.
What I didn't like
Nothing at all.
My overall impression
Janis Joplin is a cultural icon. Ariana Veronesi’s performance cuts deep into the heart of what Janis has come to stand for.
