I enjoyed the dancing in the show. Nosferatu was the only interesting character to me. He’s daunting, yet playful in some parts. The interaction between him and Ellen in their first meeting was my favorite part in the show. The costumes and makeup were well done.
What I didn't like
I think having the whole thing narrated through voice over and the projections of the dialogue could have been done differently. I would have been more compelled to see the storyteller on stage, almost as a character herself. There were times were I couldn’t read the dialogue because the actors were pantomiming and upstaged the projections. Instead of the projections aiding the story, I think they were more of a hindrance.
The train montage and beginning of the show was too long.
My overall impression
Overall, I like it as a silent movement piece. However, the first 15 minutes was a stretch for me. It could have been shorter in the beginning so Nosferatu could have been introduced sooner. It honestly wasn’t as terrifying as I hope it’d be. More like a sad love story.
