What I liked

I’ve seen NOSFERATU, A SYMPHONY IN TERROR a couple times and I’m impressed by the subtle nuance of the actors, especially Michelle Holmes who plays Count Orlock. Her mesmerizing performance transforms an otherwise sympathetic outcast of a character into a psychological monster that reminds us of real life manipulative victimizers. Holmes sets the standard for anyone to embrace this roll after her remarkable performance.
The rest of the cast, Michael Marchak who plays Thomas Hutter and Alina Bolshakova who plays Ellen are perfectly cast and I felt sympathetic to their lives. Rolando Vargas who plays the doctor and the sea captain gives more feeling to his characters than if there was dialog in the production. Renee Cohen who plays several rolls transforms herself as though she were several different people at once at the same time. Loved the classical choices of music which were so appropriate for every moment. Note how Stravinsky’s Firebird morphs so seamlessly into Paul Dukas’ Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
All in all, NOSFERATU is a compelling work of art that will effect one’s understanding of how theater can leave an audience spellbound.

What I didn't like

What I didn’t like was…there was nothing I didn’t like, but I had to fill in this space.

My overall impression

This is one show that will become my own cult classic.
