What I liked

The cast.

The talent on stage was riveting. There is so much strength and boldness collected on stage and it’s an absolute joy to witness. Everyone does a remarkable job painting an independent and realized character.

The squad we follow through the investigation is highly nuanced, each person with their own personality that adds to the richness of the story.

What I didn't like

The show works well as is.

My overall impression

A SOLDIER’S PLAY is a fantastic show that is well performed and staged.

On the surface this is a mystery. The story plays out in the deep south in the era of WWII. Immediately we are thrown into murder investigation and the complications that arise from it’s circumstance.

The journey to discover the murderer is engaging and deals with racial themes and cultural divides.
