What I liked

This production literally left the audience stunned before breaking into applause. It is nothing short of brilliant with a versatile group of consummate actors who handle a wide variety of accents and characters with great insight and expertise. The message could be described as " a protest piece" but that would be to underrate it and simplify the intention.
It is a thought provoking compilation of poetry, prose, song and sketches from such writers as Wilfred Owen, Robert Graves, C. Day Lewis and Carl Sandburg, to name a few. The time line and subject matter cover the futility and at times the horror of wars from 1914 to the present day.
The production includes some powerful vocal performances and deadly humor, all beautifully linked together.
The work originated in South Africa and has been performed in several productions over the years. Skillfully rewritten and adapted for American audiences, Jo Galloway, who originates from South Africa with an impressive performing and writing background, has totally established herself as a young writer and director of note. This production is a " must see".

What I didn't like

This is a production worthy of further development and reaching a wider audience

My overall impression

A thoroughly professional, well written and constructed piece.
