I didn't know what to expect walking in, but as soon as "I don't know what sex feels like anymore" rips into it's rocking chorus with the terrifically talented cast grabbing their crotches in unison I knew they were all in. In that moment, it reminded me of the cadets in Full Metal Jacket who grabbed their crotches while singing "this is my rifle this is my gun." As those cadets committed to the brilliance of Stanley Kubrick's vision of Vietnam so too do these actors commit to whacked out gonzo fuck it all coming of age comedy that is 13th Grade. I don't know what else to say. This show is the perfect collusion of great songwriting and comedy and balls out awesome 90's nostalgia that gives me new faith in theater. It's Saved by the Bell mee... full review

This show is something special. Something very special. I've never seen anything like it and I've never laughed as hard at any show in my life. I don't even know where to start but here goes. The writing and composition are nothing short of excellent. Though the songs stick to the hilarious 90s theme they are more diverse than you could possibly imagine. Whether it's with karaoke tracks, acoustic guitar, or a cappella each musical number is entertaining, hilarious, and extremely well written. Best thing about this play is the humor. It's fast funny and ahead of the audience the whole time exactly the way it should be . The singer/actors are all incredibly powerful and dynamic but the best parts of the entire performance was wat... full review

The characters were great and it moved along pretty swiftly with a laugh on laugh at times. The writing was hilarious and nailed the time period, For 10 characters, the story wasn't jerky and one scene flowed into another with unnoticeable flubs. The choreography and blocking for 10 actors on a stage that small was complex and spectacular -nailed it! ... full review

13th Grade is a super fun 1990s musical! Strong cast all around. The script was excellent and it was carried out effectively with hilarious results. This show is a great example of a solid "fringe musical" - in years past that term has gotten to mean some bothersome things like that it wasn't great or that it was thrown together - 13th grade is a great "fringe" musical because it presents a full evening of entertainment in an hour without us feeling jipped (though I'd see an extended version for sure), it deals with the limitations of being in a festival - 10 or so characters crammed onto a teeny stage but they made great use of what they had. Their choreo was hilarious and the songs were catchy and fun!... full review

Gonna call this show 'Horny High' instead of 13th grade. Some of the songs really stick, and there is definitely a showstopper or two, but alas I have the 'community college' song playing in my brain. Talented cast that had fun (as did the audience)... and I'm glad I included this musical in the mix of shows I'm seeing this fringe. If you like talent... and musicals... go.... full review

Last night I saw the opening of the 13th Grade and had more belly laughs then any play or movie I have seen since The Book Of Mormon. From the opening song to the last dance number this show was nonstop funny; the wipe the tears from your eyes funny. The original and refreshing, if not naughty, script was superbly acted by an amazing cast of characters. It played like a brilliant Saturday Night Live sketch you want to replay over and over again. An impressive element was how, in under 60 minutes, one could identify and fall in love with all 11 characters and their particular idiosyncrasies. An absolutely fabulous show. A must see!... full review
