What I liked

committed & witty cast, well-constructed fight choreography for the space

What I didn't like

My overall impression

written, directed, produced by Laura Wiley, “Buffy Kills Edward” hits all the sweet spots when it comes to franchise parody. it became clear die-hard fans of both series were in the crowd, as many jokes landed and landed hard. but even for a complete non-fan of Twilight and somewhat-fan of Buffy like myself, the commitment and comedic timing of the charming cast will be sure to put a smile on your face.

stand-outs include Robison as the oft-ignored sidekick Xander/over-sexed werewolf Jacob, and a couple other surprise roles. his clear and specific take on each character is delightful and keeps you looking out for when he’ll pop up on stage again. Mestemacher and Berg, as Bella and Buffy respectively, bring wit and charm to their characters that makes you root for both. the idiosyncrasies of our favorite (or least-favorite) heroines are portrayed near-perfectly by both talented actresses. Suddeth, as Edward/Spike/Aro, brings understated dry comedy to the fore in hilarious scene after scene. and must mention Dalton, who comes dangerously close to stealing the show as psychic vampire Alice, and later cold villainess Jane. her scream-off with Sperling as Dark Willow had me rolling.

if you’re a fan, and even if you’re not, go see these performers do their thing. a solid hour at the bar, for sure.
