I’m the nerd who spent the entire performance smiling. For anyone who is a fan of genre, specifically horror, they will “get this.” Easter eggs a plenty. If you thought Scream was meta, imagine a horror movie that actually gets to talk to and engage the audience. The performers make good use of character tropes. The music is quality and catchy. Very well-directed and staged.
What I didn't like
The only downside is the length in that it leaves you wanting more, but, conversely, it never overstays its welcome.
My overall impression
A knowing wink, this is clearly a love letter from real fans of the genre. There’s just a small adjustment from making someone scream to making someone laugh. This is acutely tuned into that.
