The playwright chose an unusual subject matter, a gothic romance, set at sea, and wrote the hell out of it! And i mean that in the best way possible. The actors were truly committed to the language and mannerism of the time, and i was impressed by their dedication to the piece. The sound and lighting design was excellent. With virtually no set, the sound design captured the sounds of the sea and i really felt like the action was on a ship.
What I didn't like
It was a bit difficult to hear the actors at times. Not sure if that was a function of the space or if the actors just needed to project more.
My overall impression
I was truly intrigued by the quality of the writing. How well the playwright was able to capture in the language, the poetry and rhythm of the time. Bravo!
