What I liked
Great double and triple casting and everyone going for it (appreciated the work and dedication!) Thought Dr. F and Mephistopheles in particular did a great job.
And overall, the story treatment hit home. E.g., the 15 year old we brought along—who didn’t know the Marlowe at all—totally ‘got’ what was going on in this punk-ified production and, in the broader sense, Marlowe’s storytelling.
The coup d’theatre with Helen of Troy was awesome!
What I didn't like
Enunciation. The accents were fun and made sense, in context with the whole British Punk vibe. But couldn’t always make out what was being said — and that knee-capped the humor in a couple spots.
My overall impression
Nice condensed presentation of the original Marlowe and delivered with a grrrr punk aesthetic that served Lucifer’s cohort well. Fun, smart production where everyone was 110% “in” — which was great!
