What I liked
I loved the fantastical world this piece created. A very different take on a literary classic.
What I didn't like
I had a difficult time understanding some of the actors’ accents. The text is already pretty foreign to most so it would be helpful to be able totally hear/understand the beautiful text. I’m also interested in seeing how more punk aspects can be included in the piece aside from the costumes and transition music.
My overall impression
It’s always difficult taking older literary works and making them fresh and new again. This piece was interesting and obviously had very passionate direction. I would implore the cast to become even more acquainted with the language of Faustus so the audience can truly see what it means to make a deal with the devil.
