The pace. The circuitousness, puzzle-nature of the plot, the dynamism of the actors, and the sense-pleasures of the minimal theatrical effects. The two sex-and-killing-obsessed actors and the twisted actress who’s both victim and muse —all were fully committed and right on top of their cues and the breakneck pace the show demanded.
What I didn't like
The dialects.
My overall impression
Dynamic, lively tempo, with thrills, chills, and a diverting expedition into the inverse mirror-relationship between a repressed defense attorney and a fully freed-up sex-maniac/killer in a juicy Victorian context. Edgar Allen Poe on speed, with excellent, disciplined lighting and low-budget, effective special effects to titillate and terrify.
