I most appreciated the show’s ability to find humor in such a dark subject without sacrificing the weight of the matter. That’s a wobbly tightrope in the rain, but the show made it across without incident. Well done!
What I didn't like
The only thing I would recommend would be to consider removing the bookends on the show that establish the show-within-a-show narrative. I think the play might be more tightly focused without them, even with the other few wall-breaking moments scattered throughout.
My overall impression
Fair was my favorite Fringe show this year! I loved the balance of realism, humor, surreality, and drama. The cast is incredibly talented, the script was well-written, and the show’s direction was pitch-perfect.
