What I liked

I’m so glad that I had not read the reviews prior to attending. Spoilers in the reviews would not have let the story unfold for me. I was completely unprepared – and therefore blown away – by the story arc and how Bill’s songs were woven into it perfectly. ABBA, eat your heart out.

What I didn't like

Take a towel on stage – a small one – to help with the sweat in that black box. It would be totally in character. Or, wear a sweatband? I realize the final show is 10:30 at night, but when they close the door and turn off the overhead fan, it’s stifling. Even so, I never once wavered in my attention.

My overall impression

Bill went someplace very unexpected with this show – and he nailed it! His particular talent for storytelling songs dovetailed with the spoken narrrative. Not once did my mind wander. I heard singalongs, too – and at one point the audience broke out into spontaneous (and appropriate) clapping on 2 & 4.
