What I liked
Everything. Not the least of which was the brilliant idea of handing out show-specific fans during the first hot weekend in LA!
What I didn't like
I’ve tried to think of something, but keep coming up empty.
My overall impression
So, A.- It’s not hype. Every great thing you’ve read so far in the reviews is spot on. This is a tour-de-force performance by a loving, masterful storytelller. and B.- The storytelling is fully supported by the crisp and specific direction, great lighting and screenwork, PLUS a beautifully choreographed and scored song-and-dance number. What more could one want?
This absolutely deserved the standing ovation it received, given while I was laughing too hard to wipe the tears from my eyes.
Yeah, my performer-envy button wasn’t pushed at all, no siree bob!
