What I liked
Seriously stellar performances in the midst of the barrages!
What I didn't like
That I’m bad at throwing things ;-)
My overall impression
This is a MUST SEE show— especially for those in need of some theatrical catharsis. By inviting the audience to hurl socks at the performers— and making their pieces especially laden with “triggering” cringe/groaner moments— Easy Targets lets us get out the displeasure we normally mask under polite nods after shows, and expel some of our general rage at the injustice of the world at the same time. It’s like a carnival game on stage— you purchase as many socks as you like (and trust me, you will like to buy way more than you think) and you hurl them at the performer when the spirit moves you. You’re allowed to buy more during the show, too. One thing I learned: 1. Theater goers aren’t so great at aim but 2. When someone lands a headshot it is insanely funny. Come early so you can line up and get a closer seat: your success rate will be best in the lower rows!
Also… while the focus is mostly on throwing shit, the actors are all amazing, even while doing hokey/parodic material. Kudos, team!
