About the Project
The Musical of Motion Picture Arts and Science is an satirical comedy that confronts many of the societal norms surrounding movies that we too often take for granted: the lack of diversity in the Academy Awards, the effectiveness of so-called “Oscar bait,” plagiarism and its prevalent intrusion in the arts, and the massive pay-to-play nature of the awards season. The young upstart Martin Welles faces all these trials (for better or for worse) as he works his way to the top of the cinematic world and wins himself an Oscar.
