This fast paced, humorous show features slight of hand, math magic and card manipulation. John Armstrong has a great rapport with the audience and is entertaining start to finish. Saw this show by accident, was at wrong venue, but glad I caught this one instead. #seeitLA Listen to full review here: soundcloud.com/user-340248772/hollywood-fringe-hff17-ep-06-john-armstrong-comic-amazement-quantum-entanglement... full review

Hollywood Fringe is always a great place to see magicians perform. Jon Armstrong was such a treat to see. I had seen him on Penn & Teller’s “Fool Us” as well as the documentary “Magicians: Life in the Impossible” and seeing him perform live just confirmed everything I had seen on tv. He is a very talented and skillful magician. As soon as he comes on stage, you can’t help but to smile. You can tell he’s there having fun and doing what he loves. He performs some classic illusions but with a modern twist. He’s so good and smooth at some of these tricks that you didn’t even realize he did something. Make sure you get there early if you like to help out (pick a card, pick an envelope, etc.)... full review

Jon Armstrong presents a clean, sharp, fun hour of clever magic. Concentrating on fairly intimate, close-up shenanigans. He brings a sincere sense of humor to the show. One of his strengths is making the audience feel relaxed and yet completely engaged. Totally charming and highly baffling at times, what Jon Armstrong does is make you believe some things in this world are truly magical.... full review

Award-winning magician Jon Armstrong is best known for his close-up magic and card tricks. Having taken the past year to study and develop new illusions, he performs a number of classic routines with a twist, such as using a tie in lieu of rope in a rope trick, or using rubber bands for a smaller version of the Chinese rings. Though some of his routines are stronger than others, here he proves why he’s considered by some to be one of the best close-up magicians today. His strongest routine blends his amazing ability of card manipulation and use of mathematics (which I won’t give away). With his wry sense of humour, he commands the audience in this thoroughly magical performance.... full review
