What I didn't like

My overall impression

This show is a delight! Amanda is an endearing leading lady with a relatable plight- we go on an online dating journey with her through all the ugly truths of match.com- the jerks, the creepers— all set to a soundtrack of Broadway songs parodies- it’s like the story of my life…. right down to the high brow choices of songs that get parodied – when the guys came out with frames and performed a relatively eclectic Bway tune “facade” my musical theatre loving heart exploded into a thousand comedy and tragedy mask emojis.

I love the choice to focus on one main character- it’s effective and enjoyable and perfect for fringe! This show is completely silly and totally feels sincere and that is a fantastic combo!

If there is an award for an amazing ensemble I nominate these guys. Amanda is a gem and she’s backed by 3 ladies who all shine in their own moments as Amanda’s mom, restaurant staff and more – the men fill out the cast with several unfortunate duds- i think I have had bad coffee dates with all of these archetypes.. the ensemble involvement tight, consistent, dynamic and I love how it starts small and ends in the whole gang getting involved with some bigger group moments toward the end.

I love this cast and I can’t speculate ages too much but I’d place most as being in their 30s and YESSSS on that – this not only made the show feel super real to me as a single 30-something but it completely could have been performed (with zero script changes) by a bunch of 23 year olds and nothing against folks that age, but this band of what I’d assume to be late 20s-mid-30s crowd felt so authentic and really made this feel authentic.
