The strongest parts of the show are the songs – and the singing. excellent use of the space – tiny stages are tough, but the cast managed it like pros. Proves that much can be done with very little.
What I didn't like
The weakest parts were the actual acting/speaking scenes… and transitions. Tiny theaters suck… they are horribly intimate. And sometimes the cast didn’t quite adjust from “belting out a song like you’re at Carnegie” back down to “tiny box theater”. A better sound system (an actual sound system – there wasn’t one) would fix all that however and even out the performances.
My overall impression
Fun show with non-stop zingers and references – and great music. Well directed to begin with, the songs are brought to life by a talented cast – that is actually well cast. But the stars of the show are the characters and their stories. Each of them a different tale of passionate fandom.
