The story was personal…she lived it. It was funny yet very moving. A pleasant and very stageworthy piece. A lot of thinking, planning, movement choices and decisions had to be made, with the help of her director…and probably her husband, who is himself one smarty pantalones. This brought everyone…single, never-married, never had kids, had kids, married….whomever…into her story. There were universal themes presented to all present. Great response from those of us in the audience. It was a pleasure. BTW…loved the 11:30 A.M. start. Also…bless Miss Brooke for the under-hour length…a near-perfect timing. If one were ‘hiring’, she’s a keeper.
What I didn't like
Nothing I didn’t like. This was well done. Tightly edited.
My overall impression
Just a terrific show. As another person said afterwards, out on the sidewalk…“You didn’t tell us to bring Kleenex”. Yes, it was funny, yes it was serious…but I don’t know if we had counted on tear ducts flowing.
