What I liked

Great concept. A lot of facets and ridiculousness of the internet to work with. Great ensemble. The female lead has an incredible voice. Loved the life and energy of our internet mogul and the social media star. Both very funny and fun.

What I didn't like

Music and melodies did not highlight the emotional connection to the scenes. The humor either played it too safe or didn’t go far enough or fell flat on the jokes. (Fuck You Hermaphrodites) was a lackluster finale lyric choice that fell pretty hard. I think a big point in which the audience rebelled was the “real talk” perspective of our main male character in the second act. It came off as a wag of the finger. It felt as if this character didn’t have the right to say any of those things. The monologue reminded me of older males and their facebook rants about how the world was somehow better before. It was off putting and stereotypical of an older age perspective/complaint rather than profound insight and emotional renewal of seriousness. With a tweak, the juxtaposition could land really well, and then you get a great joke to bring everyone back with you.

My overall impression

I think the concept has a lot of potential.
