What I liked

Lyla had me cracking up the entire time. Her humor is completely accessible for everyone present. It’s camp, it’s classic (9 to 5 “Atta girl.”) with a touch of Southern class and decorum. A lot of ‘smart’ humor with a moving plot line. Very entertaining and a nice break from the real world. This show brilliantly utilizes multi-media elements to keep the audience entertained and laughing while Lyla does her costume changes.

What I didn't like

I think the character of the Nephew would work better as Lyla’s “best friend from childhood” and they have some sort of romantic struggle which plays itself out as a subplot and resolves at the end. It would also play well against Lyla’s love drama as written in the show.

Love the music and the live singing. I want even more from that song, girl. I want you sweating and about to have a heart attack by the end! It’s a really good song!!! Work that Sh*t, b*tch! Maybe even film a couple hot backup dancers who match Lyla’s choreography.

My overall impression

This was my fastest hour at Fringe. It flew by! “Lyla Karug” (spelling? Pronounced: Lie like a rug) is f*cking hilarious.
