I loved Dufflyn’s way of conveying highs and lows, different characters, and relating to the audience. The story itself was wildly original and multi-faceted, covering areas like family dynamic, self-image, aging, addiction, in such creative ways. The fact that Dufflyn created and acted in this made it feel so real and is incredibly impressive.
What I didn't like
Honestly – nothing. It was truly a perfect little piece of art!
My overall impression
What an incredible show. There was a part of me, when hearing “one woman show,” that was worried it might be a little slow or difficult to engage with – but it was exactly the opposite. Dufflyn had my rapt attention the entire time! She wove such a moving, hilarious, relatable, story of growing up and coming to terms with herself and her background in such a powerful, dynamic way. I’m by no means a theatre buff but I would highly, highly recommend this.
