This is a unique theatrical endeavor, as it is bilingual, where the same cast of actors are performing the play in either their native language (Greek) and also in English for other audiences. The cast is mixed (see separate attachment with their resumes) and their stage presence affirms that disability is not a barrier for the performing arts.
The production is planning a world tour for 2017 to promote the ideals behind this endeavor and to assert the equality of access to the Arts for the disabled, not only as spectators but also as performers.
….the battle to conquer all that is “different”
and to combat prejudice within ourselves…
This world tour would include stops like the Sarajevo Silk Road Festival (February 2017), the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (August 2017), the Athens and Epidaurus Festival for the performing arts (summer 2017) and many more venues that we are currently scheduling.
“Blindfold – The Night of the Hunt” is a mobile production, with a cast of four, minimal stage requirements and easy to adapt to any venue with minimal preparations. Performances can be either in Greek with English subtitles or in English with Greek subtitles.
Furthermore, we can include master-classes by the playwright Ms. Stavrakaki, who is also directing the play, as well as, by Mr. Oikonomou who is part of the cast and holds a MA in “Ancient Greek Theater” for local groups as you may deem appropriate.
