ROBERT ALLAN uncertified reviewer June 21, 2011
Clara York’s fearless performance of Apocalypse, Not Now is a hilarious piece of one-woman satire that leaves the entire audience wanting more. This somewhat poignant look at Tujunga life delivers a cast of Tujunga characters that at times shocks even the most jaded viewer. The audience never knows what to expect next and she doesn’t disappoint. Her take on everything from annoying neighbors to foothill disasters is a journey through the mad mind of Ms. York and zooms in on her imaginative perspective as a Tujunga dweller. This show is not to be missed. I cannot recommend it enough. I loved every minute of it! - Robert Allan... full review

It is rare that a performance can cause me to lose my breath from laughing so hard....that I become uncomfortably aware that my laughter is taking away from the performance...that I may indeed be causing a scene because of my uncontrolled laughter...desperately trying to catch my breath...not wanting to miss the next words from the performers lips...but it happened. Clara York put on a clinic in laughter, delivery, timing and character that we should all take note of. I DID! I had no idea what to expect, a Tujungian agoraphobic? Huh? Amazing. The writing, performance, direction and staging were in all in perfect harmony to create a story that takes you a journey of the amazing and yet so right on that you can see the picture painted in words... full review

This show was fantastic, it exceeded my high expectations, and had the audience laughing so hard that the performer had to wait until everyone stopped to be heard. It depicts all the anxiety of our times, the worry about growing older, the latent fear that Los Angeles is careening on the brink of chaos, and the isolation of the individual in a city with so many people, all with humor and humility. It is a must-see!! ... full review

Clara delivered a fantastic performance on this show. She was in full control of the material throughout. I think she’s doing stoners who suffer from bi-polar disorder and agoraphobia a great service, by telling their story and making it really funny. It is overall a great show and Jane Morris did an excellent job directing it.... full review

I LOVED everything about Clara's show! It was so friggen funny, courageous, OUT THERE, yet totally relevent. She's a beautiful woman who gave a balls our performance. I literally laughed my ass off - continuously. The concept and the character are as unique and clever as you can get. I loved it so much I went back the next night and brought more friends. Everyone loved it... I can't recommend this show more highly. BRAVO!... full review

A very memorable, fun and witty performance. Great writing. Clearly I can't clamor enough for Clara as Carla and company castigating craziness and commemorating charisma and class. See it!... full review

just thought this actress was fabulous. she portrayed a very finely written eccentric character with precision and consistency---no false notes. show has a little of a lot of things in just a lttle over an hour---humor, pathos, sadness and joy. a very enjoyable, rewarding and worthwhile evening. Thanks.... full review

Hard to express how stunned I was by this piece. Seriously funny, poignant writing, elevated by a viciously good performance. I found myself thinking about it for several days afterward, dialogue popping into my head unbidden, barking out random laughs at odd moments - my very own case of goofy Tourette's. Beautiful. ... full review
