My overall impression
James’ songs have some surprisingly nice melodies coupled with clever lyrics. He was clearly influenced by Elvis Costello, Billy Joel and the rarely emulated Joe Jackson! Luckily he’s got a good voice and doesn’t phone in a performance. His material is very relatable and I’d recommend catching the show before the festival ends.
