My overall impression

I met Zehra Fazal at the opening night party at fringe central. We also have our shows playing at the same theatre. Last Saturday we went up at the same exact start time. Zehra at the Asylum & I at the Asylum Lab. I bumped into her in the hall sitting quietly to herself. I bring this up because Zehra is my favorite kind of performer. Both encounters with this nice young lady I found her sweet, soft spoken, humble & even a bit shy. Just a very kind person who kindly wants to share her art….. With that said… YOU ARE MISSING OUT BIG-TIME if you do not go see “Headscarf and the Angry Bitch”! This is what a “solo show” is. I rather say a good solo show. A great story, funny, solid performance, very very entertaining. Not one bit of therapy. Which is a sad MO for loads of shows done wrong. Zehara’s show is done RIGHT. Very right. The message is clear & powerful. Fun from start to rock & roll fill finish. As for the young woman in the center of it all. When the lights go on her she becomes a force to be reckoned with. Great acting, music, writing & journey. I picked up an air of quiet confidence when I met her. The kind of person you can tell has put serious work into becoming the artist they are. That is my kind of artist. When the lights drop… they show-up. Don’t miss this show! Show up!
