What I liked

Kim Davies’ play is given a first rate production under the remarkable guidance of Lisa James. Ms. James brings the sexual foreplay/ interplay to symphonic heights while getting the two fine actors to find the right subtle notes as well.
We are challenged with issues of artistic dreams juxtaposed with heartbreaking reality; a young generation insulating themselves in the world hedonistic parties that shelter them from life’s truthful dangers, and a sometimes subtle/sometimes frightening dance of seduction and sadism.
For those who have seen the current smash on Broadway called Blackbird – Smoke is an ideal companion piece.

What I didn't like

An 80 minute play – I would have embraced 80 more!

My overall impression

Powerful, disturbing theater with enough humor and humanity to make its audience care. It will stay in your soul long after you’ve left the theater.
