My overall impression

This show is one part classic fairy tale, one part improv and one part mad lib. Essentially, host JP Karliak, introduces the special guest for that show, then with both the guest’s and the audiences’ help fills in a Mad Lib to distort a classic fairy tale. It is a great concept, however, who remembers how long it took to fill in a regular Mad Lib? Forever, right! Now imagine that process for an entire fairy tale instead of a simple paragraph. It took way too long, and though he tried valiantly, Karliak was unable to keep the process entertaining. By the time the actual improv started I had lost interest.

That being said, the improv itself was great, this is a very talented cast, and they were able to regain my interest. I was particularly impressed at their ability to sing whatever it was they had just been talking about, on command. It was truly impressive. There is a lot of potential in this show, and by the end it is a fun ride. Just know going in that it starts really slow. #ChanceItLA
