June 11, 2016What I liked
The stage combat. The pacing. The specificity. Use of costumes and props. Loved that they took this old story and created a modern day version. Police brutality, white privilage, domestic violance, sexual assault,
Faulty justice system and all…
What I didn't like
Disturbing actual story line. And very violent.
My overall impression
Actors did a tremendous job. Very specific, took their moments and worked very hard. The story was disturbing leaving intense impression on the viewer which is of course the point. I kept wanting justice and laughing when I should be crying…which too is the point. It was was shocking to say the least. Brilliant to a fault and disturbing. I found myself continuing to think about it after the show.. It left many impressions on my guest…what I asking myself is “why?” Why put this on? Why put this on now? And what is the message? “The moral” if you will…politics? Injustice? maybe it’s nothing it’s nothing more than to ask these very questions.
