This is one of my FAVORITE genres: the tricky line this show straddles (pun intended) between stand-up routine and “my actual life” confessional.
What I didn't like
That tricky line is…well, tricky. Hard to say who to aim this at (a director who didn’t structure the show carefully enough? An actor who couldn’t hold careful direction?) But the piece needs a thoughtful comb-out.
My overall impression
I really like Amy, as an onstage presence. I really like her story. And I’d really like to see this thing get taken up a notch or two, in terms of nailing the nuances. Tighter kitty kitty…
