What I liked

I imagine a great deal of credit must go to director and co-writer Molly Dworsky. A huge amount of editing and cutting goes into creating an original show like this. Under Dworsky’s hand, the show is brisk, hilarious, and unbelievably charming.
Dave Reynolds, as the unstable, flamboyant tunnel enforcer “Stabby Rick,” is the out-and-out highlight. His introduction song shoots the show’s laugh-count into the stratosphere as he nimbly stomps and stabs his way around the stage.
The band was also incredible working with no monitors and still keeping perfect time for their cast. Musical director Sam Johnides has taken great care with all of these tunes and takes care of the actors on stage.

What I didn't like

Any problems I had with the show would only be quibbling. Compared to some other original Fringe musicals I’ve seen, this show is such a home run.

My overall impression

Robot Teammate’s sophomore Fringe show, “Thug Tunnel,” is an undeniable joy. In the time since last year’s ambitious yet bulky “Time Heart”, the group has become a more assured & efficient bunch of story tellers. All of the songs are catchy as hell, while gleefully silly choreography keeps the energy from ever dipping. This is THE musical to see at Fringe.
