What I liked

Nilbog is a fantastic parody of Troll 2, almost so perfect that it feels like I’m watching Troll 2 Live on Stage. It is definitely for the fans of the movie, but it’s funny enough for those who have never experienced Troll 2.

What I didn't like

During the preview the show ran over by about 20 minutes, and I ended up being late to the next show on my list—I didn’t miss any of the show, but I panicked, rushing to try and make it without getting turned down. They DID announce this, but it was well over the 1 hour mark. Just a heads up if you are trying to plan this in your schedule. Also, the Three Clubs venue is entirely too small for this show. They sold out (perhaps oversold?) the preview, and I was in the back on a booth, and I could hardly see over the seats right in front of me, and then they added another row, causing me to have to stand for the entire show, even though I purchased my tickets in advance, etc. It really should be playing in a bigger theatre.

My overall impression

The show itself is lots of fun, even if some of the cast members were not the greatest singers or the greatest at keeping a consistent beat—it adds to the hilarity and zaniness of Nilbog! The show is great, and as long as you are prepared to be crammed into the venue like sardines and expect the show to last a bit longer than expected, you should have a pretty good time. It’s a riot!
