My overall impression

This show delivers on all levels: a clever concept, cleanly executed by talented and adept performers. Full of hilarious tidbits for those in the Shakespearean know, it’s completely accessible to anyone with even the vaguest understanding of the classic plot. Each player fully realizes his clown persona, then embodies his R&J character with that clown’s personality, always to hilarious results. Surprisingly solid vocals and instrumental music are an added delight, and the live piano accompaniment throughout is a wonderfully vaudevillian touch. Watch out for unexpected lewdness one does not usually associate with Shakespeare’s most romantic lovers – these actors go there and they absolutely don’t EVER let up. I’ll never be able to watch the balcony scene again without blushing.
DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW! Best thing I’ve seen in a long time.
