I love a fun 20s sex romp. Glitzy costumes and set (for the Fringe), quick dialogue, interesting historical tidbits about the actual woman who inspired “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”. Quite the man eater.
What I didn't like
Felt more like a work-in-progress than a completed script. Many “dead” areas, repetition, and too much historical exposition that slowed the action in an otherwise snappy and fast-paced script. Needs another rewrite or two.
The ticket price $29—-whaaaa?! For a Fringe show? I guess all the bijoux the main character wears is pricey. Fortunately the generous producer allowed me in as a comp otherwise I would not have attended. The price was not worth it IMHO.
My overall impression
Loved the costumes, set and snappy 20s dialogue. But needs a bit more work to fully succeed as the sex farce it’s intended to be. Check for discount codes!!
