Ms Blake has an awesome big country voice, and her supporting cast are appealing. I like that they are the band, and step out to play different characters. I think there is a great story to be told here.
What I didn't like
The show is structured in a way that many interesting or relevant events happen offstage, and we jump forward in time with highly expository dialogue to explain. Still, sometimes it is hard to keep track of what’s happened.
There is a lack for natural flow between scenes, and within them. The relationships between characters need more development both in writing and performance.
My overall impression
There are the bones of an interesting show here, and some great music, but unfortunately, it never quite comes together. (and fair warning, it is running about 75 – 80 minutes, not 65)
