What I liked

What a (wicked) delight this show is! One of those rare Fringe shows where you know right out of the gate you’re in good hands and can just relax and enjoy. The writer clearly understands that there’s no horror without humor and there are lots of “Black Widow Laughs” in this show! The writing is clever, the story is unique but in a satisfyingly familiar way, the performances are strong and everyone seems to be having fun, and the whole thing is just dripping with seduction and sin. This tale of fanged temptresses (and tempters) in an underground bar is perfectly located in the blood-red confines of the small Three Clubs theater space and the production, with a bass player lurking in the dark creating a surprisingly evocative soundtrack, makes good use of what the space has to offer. To say too much about the plot would be to spoil the fun for future audience members—suffice to say the surprises are all delightful and laced with a burlesque naughtiness that was very entertaining.

What I didn't like

My overall impression

Like good burlesque (but with an actual plot!) this has smart, beautiful, dangerous women, good-looking guys who are a bit slow on the uptake (or so it seems) and a mix of sex and violence…If you like things sexy, a little sleazy, girls in fishnets, surprises, decadence and a bit of blood…but all in the name of fun…this is a great little show for you, highly recommended!
