There is a fun “let’s put on a show in your dad’s garage” kind of feel to the sets, costumes and wigs.
What I didn't like
Too many pregnant pauses in the teacher’s (Troy Heard) monologues which slowed down the action to a crawl. The dark tone of the adult story line is also somewhat disturbing since the kids are often on stage watching him. It may have a cast of kids but it isn’t a kid’s show so be aware this is adult entertainment. Some will find it hilarious, others in poor taste.
My overall impression
These kid have done their homework and handle Shakespeare’s text quite well. It’s actually pretty funny watching them nail characters normally played by adults in this particularly gruesome horror/tragedy adaptation. The concept is beautifully absurd and offers a lot of laughs.
