What I liked

The Big Snake was really fun! It appealed to me in the concept, the writing, and the execution. I went not having read the blurb, but since it reveals the ‘play within a play’ aspect, if you’re reading this I’m not spoiling anything for you. The four “audience members” who represent some significant archetypes in the theater world form a Greek chorus of sorts, and every time we check in with them during the progress of the “real” show, it pays off in laughs.
The “real” show, the reality show within the show, is equally funny. The high energy cast take us through the twists and turns of creating “reality” TV, plus a bit of reality within the reality that doesn’t make it on the air!
The writing is funny, the concept is clever, the acting spot-on. Highly recommended!

What I didn't like

I tend to prefer characters that are a little more flesh and blood, but this play is, in my opinion, about archetypes, and it is totally appropriate that the play is presented accordingly.

My overall impression

Fun, funny, lively. Great for its commentary on both theater and reality TV!
