The problems of brother and sister Aurora and Larry (aka Polaris) are played straight and aren’t overblown to sitcom proportions. Despite their common up-bringing their paths diverge and Jennifer Kenyon explores the dissonance of loving a sibling whose world view has grown radically different from your own. Kenyon portrays both titular characters with understated bravura.
What I didn't like
My overall impression
Aurora & Larry is not splashy and garish. It doesn’t pull any of the usual Fringe-y tricks to grab your attention. It is a carefully constructed narrative that gently unfolds before you like the petals of a flower.
