Storytelling that was unique and universal. Funny and accessible without ever dumbing anything down. They give the audience a lot of credit to be able to follow the journeys of these characters – and while the dancing is impresive, the cast does not slack on acting and characterization! These are all clearly defined individuals. The “interns” number actually gave me goosebumps!
What I didn't like
I wish there were more to look at during the lovely – but lengthy – overture.
My overall impression
The Joy of Rebellion. It’s nice to be reminded in this day and age that there can be exuberance and enthusiasm in resistance – that we truly are Stronger Together when we stand for what we love and believe in. The good people at Tap Overload are doing it all right. They’re doing what they love at an untouchable skill level. They’re inviting newcomers to be part of the fun. They’re fostering young talent. This is much more than one show – this is a philosophy about life through dance.
