Setting: Edison, New Jersey
When Maggie Dowkowski swerves her car to avoid hitting a dog, she crashes and is officially deceased. However, in her not quite through the door to the other side state, she is granted one last chance to heal her broken relationship with her two grown sons who have disowned her.
While she talks to her Higher Power about her situation, regrets and decision to heal their relationship, her deceased husband Jack Dowkowski is sent from the powers-that- be to help her accomplish the miracle she desires.
With great resistance and typical wise-cracking Jersey persona, she concedes to also heal her relationship with her late ex-husband in order to collaborate with the healing of their family.
Maggie pretends to be the attorney for their late mother, to gain access to the two sons who are instructed to meet up with her at the old family home on Ashley road in Edison, New Jersey. As the story unfolds to its conclusion, we see in action the power of love, humor and truth to heal a family proving that even in Jersey, love, spirituality and healing exists.
A play that will move you to laughter, tears and the tender joy of witnessing a mother’s greatest accomplish; the change to make it right with the people she loves the most.
