Gilda was utterly heartfelt and charming. Even though I don’t know that much about Gilda Radner, Helena’s love for her was infectious and engaging. She pulled me in right from the opening musical number, and I was hooked.
What I didn't like
Ninety minutes is on the lengthy side for a Fringe piece, but the time passed so quickly I didn’t notice. So I guess I’m hard pressed to find something that I didn’t like.
My overall impression
This show struck the perfect balance between comedy and drama, heartfelt and hopeful. I loved the stories, the musical numbers (the song about “Saccharine” was especially enjoyable), and the comedic sketches. I left the theater feeling inspired and with a renewed sense of purpose in my own life. Brava, Helena. It was a beautiful tribute, and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.
