About the Project
Mental Creatures, a one of a kind solo show, weaves a brand new musical score with the funny, moving and life changing journeys of three people: Jesse – a young painter on the brink of his first gallery show; Sylvia – a spunky widow who puts herself back in the dating market; and Frank – an elderly man sorting through his life on the eve of moving into an old age home. They are surrounded by a colorful array of supporting characters, including a narrator who concisely expresses the challenges, dreams and emotions facing the characters through song. Written by award winning actor-singer-songwriter, Jay Jacobson, Mental Creatures is a unique and uplifting glance at the core of the human experience.
