My overall impression
Disaster meets comedy at every corner – so it’s just like real-life relationships! These actors were so comfortable and well-fit in their roles, that after the show I had to ask if it was written for them/with them! (It wasn’t.) All the love affairs are intertwined (as I’m sure you’ve gathered from their sexy promotional photos and material), but the writing is so great, that each scene honestly stands on it’s own with a strong beginning, middle, and end. These characters are deeply layered and surprising. Social graces are at times cast-aside, principles of youth are tested, women get to make strong bold choices in the face of… well, that’d be a spoiler. There are no small roles here, so thankfully TU is filled with talent to captivate you with truth and heart. If you’ve ever tried to make something out of nothing, concocted fantasies in your head, put up with it out of convenience, repeatedly banged your head against the wall of desire, or if you’ve ever had to adjust to losing everything… or if you’re just a breathing human… you’ll like this show.
