My overall impression

Damien Luvara’s brilliant, hysterical script about Tony Danza is only surpassed by his brilliant, hysterical portrayal of Tony Danza. Supported by a pitch-perfect cast and the seamless, always on-point direction of Matt Ritchey, Luvara has created a show that defies your expectations in revealing the “truth” behind the boxer-turned-TV star and his hit ‘80s sitcom "Who’s the Boss?". Such is Luvara’s comic genius, you don’t even have to have seen an episode of that show in order to enjoy this show. Damien does Danza by taking his passing resemblance to the actor and transforming himself into his doppelganger through sheer talent and force of will. It’s his tour de force performance that makes the entire play oddly real even when it gets real odd. “Boss” is a HFF2015 must-see.
