“Yield to Whim” is a shared evening that invites the audience into a world of athletic, theatrical, whimsical dance.
Invertigo Dance Theatre (Laura Karlin, director) presents Descent of the Docent, a piece in which a museum guide takes the audience through a tour of a modern dance piece. A playful look at how we understand and interact with art, in particular that big scary field of contemporary dance.
Equal parts reality show and high-powered contemporary dance, Catch Me Bird (C. Derrick Jones & Nehara Kalev, directors) transforms the ups and downs of relationship into an artistic journey, exploding the boundaries of art and life with aerial spectacle, verbal sparring and madcap humor.
