My overall impression

Hilarious, loopy and ridiculously entertaining! The original documentary’s truth-is-stranger-than-fiction aesthetic is turned up to eleven and set to a charmingly retro rock/pop score that mixes fist-pump anthems, electro-synth dance jams, and movie-closing-credit duet ballads. Both Lauren and Brendan are exhaustingly joyful to watch, and the endless quick-changes and clever pacing show off their amazing skills; they obviously love the material and it loves them right back. So much 1980s arcade fun, all that’s missing is the smell of nachos and popcorn (and desperation).
