My overall impression

Cubans have big personalities and in this one woman show, Alina reflects a perfect rendition of their culture. She gives a heartwarming performance weaving you through explosive laughter one moment and tears the next. Each character is vividly depicted through hilariously animated impressions of people, places and things. Morphing into her Dad, then into her sisters, her 1st grade teacher, the aged and washed up circus performer, and so many more characters. This one hour show is packed with lessons from her father as she leads you through 50+ years of Cuban history, dance, song and what it means to be Cuban-American. The real moral of the story is about making peace with the authenticity of who you are; which in Alina’s mind, is the key to being “present” for life. I was thoroughly entertained.
